Lele,

I am also very tired. I was winning a bar fight until, like 3am, so I totally know what you mean. Actually, I was worshiping and reading about God’s holiness. So I didn’t really want to go to bed. But I made myself. Then I just layed there tossing and turning, my body temperature and thus blanket level fluctuating, thoughts racing through my mind. I have a hard time turning my mind off sometimes. Sometimes being all the time. Then I had weird dreams that kept waking me up. I can’t remember them though. People I know have been all over them lately though. Get out, people. Leave me alone.

I’m enjoying this Brooke Fraser Pandora station. I also bought a CD yesterday. I don’t think any of our friends will really like it except for me. Her name is Yasmin Levy, and she is Spanish. Her music is all Spanish/flamenco/Middle Eastern and she often sings in this Sephardic Jewish language (Sephardic Judaism being a sect of Judaism in Spain). It is super cool. Yesterday I also watched a Celtic Woman special on PBS with The Nana. What fantastic music! I don’t know if I’ve ever heard such pure voices as I heard coming from the mouths of those Celtic women. Irish music/culture is so cool. Nana said they are partially Irish on her side, so now I’m going to exploit my Irish heritage in the following ways:

  • plan a trip to kiss the (oft-urinated on) blarney stone
  • drink more irish coffee
  • learn irish
  • eat only irish beef
  • pick up riverdance as a hobby
  • dye half of my hair red
  • learn to fiddle
  • marry an Irishman

Speaking of Irish culture, I have two more things to say about it. 1) The Nana and I also listened to a segment on NPR’s “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me” radio show (hilarious) about the norwegians being jealous of all the attention the irish get. Things like, on St. Patty’s Day the irish get parades and international attention; on St. Olef’s Day the Norwegians get icy road conditions in Minnesota. The irish have lots of awesome movies; the Norwegians just have Fargo. They all had Minnesota accents too – quality comedy. I am going to be sad if NPR loses its funding. 2) I totally freaked out in the car this morning when I thought it was St. Patty’s Day. I don’t have a lick of green on and I HATE BEING PINCHED. I’m a great pincher though. Esp with my toes. #superpower

The Nana, whose name is Patty, told me that her name on her birth certificate was “Paddy”. She didn’t know this until she was in her 20s and had to change it. Irish, indeed. OR an excuse as to why I like rice so much.

Know what I eat for breakfast? Coffee. I never get tired of it, either. I’m usually not hungry for breakfast, even though I KNOW I should eat it. This weekend I was starving though. Don’t know why. I made this peppers & onion omelette Saturday and it was oh so tasty. I was sure if I wanted peppers & onion or spinach & tomato, so I let Ginger choose. She’s such a wise dog. Oh, I made THE most amazing things last night!!!! I am so proud of myself. They were these cheesy spinach puffs with bacon… genius. Not gonna lie. I love experimenting with food.

Look on eric’s wall. I posted a poem. You would like it. It has inspired me to write my own poem about ginger, which I will work on and post later.

I’m excited for Jesus to come back. And to see what song He will really be singing.

Toots,
RML
