Ode to Ginger

Canis lupus familiaris is your taxonomic nomenclature,

An endothermic quadruped, adorable by nature;

Your stalking, attacking, and murderous cunning

Contribute to your ability to send others running.

I find myself intrigued by your ear locomotion,

They whip around at the slightest hint of commotion.

And don’t think I don’t notice your hedonistic predilection

For a rhythmic stroking of your tummy to demonstrate affection.

A ball is quite essential for your acrobatic aptitude;

If no one plays with you, you develop quite an attitude.

And when not being utilized to throw your toy,

My arm becomes a thing for your teeth to destroy.

O Bubz, the complex levels of behavior you display

Connote what can only be an extraterrestrial cognitive array.

Though you are an alien, Ging, and try to kill me oft,

I nonetheless love you for your spunk and hair so soft.
